I am thankful to be alive.
I am thankful to have family and friends who love and support me whether I am naughty or nice. I am thankful to have family and friends who care and have the courage to say what needs to be said, though it may not feel good. I am thankful to have family and friends who know how to use prayer as a means of protection and resurrection.
I am thankful that I finally know what matters most during this season. It is not the dinner and gifts. No, it is the opportunity to share the harvest from the seeds planted throughout the year.
This year, my harvest is huge. After all, I have been planting for many years now. Not to mention all the others who, too, have been planting seeds of greatness on my behalf. You see, over the last two decades, I have learned that principled living is the key to success. Though I can not profess that I have mastered anything, I can tell you that I am committed to living a life of great character. Despite all the seeds planted and even the resulting bountiful daily, I struggle in one area or another. Nevertheless, I will never give up on me or those I love. Though sometimes the struggles I face seem insurmountable and may even cause me to doubt the power of the God within me; I am determined to keep the faith and fulfill my purpose.
This season is special for me this year more than ever because it marks the ending of a long reign of internal warfare and the start of a new beginning.
