Ordained For Purpose: Standing in Faith Through the Journey

There are moments in life when God calls you to step out on faith – to leave behind the familiar shores of comfort and security for the uncharted waters of purpose. My journey to New York City wasn’t just a change of location; it was a divine appointment with destiny.

The Courage to Leave the Corporate Plantation

When I left my position at GE, many would call it crazy. Limited resources, no guaranteed contracts, and deadlines that seemed impossible to meet. But as a woman of faith, I understand something profound about God’s timing – it rarely aligns with human logic.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9

Like Harriet Tubman who walked 150 miles to freedom and then returned to free others, I felt compelled to leave the corporate plantation. Not just for my own liberation, but because I carry a message of freedom that others desperately need to hear.

Walking Through the Valley

The path hasn’t been easy. There have been days of overwhelming doubt, fear, and anxiety. Days where the tears flowed freely as I questioned the journey. Mid-March arrived with no secured contracts, mounting responsibilities, and the uncertainty of establishing my new home in New York.

But even in those moments of weakness, God continues to show Himself faithful.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4

It’s in these valleys that God’s promise becomes most real. When human strength fails, divine strength sustains. When human wisdom reaches its limit, divine guidance illuminates the path ahead.

Divine Connections

One of the most powerful confirmations of God’s hand on this journey has been the divine connections He’s orchestrated. From meeting Erica last summer during my comedy performance, which led to connecting with my producer brother Lenny Moore, to countless others who have spoken life into my vision.

These aren’t coincidences – they’re God-ordained appointments.

When Lenny called me unexpectedly, simply to encourage me and affirm the gift he sees in me, I recognized it immediately as the Holy Spirit’s prompting. His words, “I see you, you have something great. I believe in you,” weren’t just kind sentiments – they were divine affirmation arriving at precisely the moment I needed it most.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

The Anointing for This Season

There’s an anointing on my life that I can no longer deny. God has been preparing me through every trial, every setback, and every victory for such a time as this. The world needs authentic voices who aren’t afraid to stand in their truth and speak life where death has prevailed.

On the subway, seeing a young mother with her child in a dirty stroller – exhausted, overlooked, and struggling – I felt God’s heart for His people. That moment crystallized my purpose. I’m not just pursuing success for myself. I’m pursuing a platform to elevate others who feel stuck, trapped, and forgotten.

My music, my comedy, my speaking – they’re all vessels to carry one central message: You are somebody. Regardless of where you fall on the economic spectrum, despite what society has labeled you, in spite of your past mistakes or present struggles – you matter to God, and you matter to this world.

The Beast Mentality

This is why I created “B.E.A.S.T. M.A.C.” – an anthem to remind every woman, especially Black women, of their inherent worth and power. When I declare “I am a B.E.A.S.T.” – I’m not speaking of aggression but of unstoppable purpose, unshakable faith, and unmovable conviction.

B.E.A.S.T: Brave, Enthusiastic, Authentic, Self-controlled, and Thankful.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

This is the mentality that has carried me through my darkest moments and will continue to fuel my mission as God expands my territory.
